Forever Home

Forever Home

Secure a permanent home for MVHP so thousands more families
can achieve homeownership, stability, and generational wealth.

The Forever Home Campaign

While we’ve spent decades helping families secure their own homes, MVHP has never had a permanent home of our own. That’s about to change.

Through the Forever Home capital campaign, MVHP will raise $2 million to purchase our Acre Crossing headquarters—cementing our presence in Lowell so that we can help families for generations to come.

Our Space Helps More People Thrive

Built to our specifications, MVHP’s new headquarters opened in November 2024 and has expanded our community impact:

A welcoming, ground-floor public entrance and reception area

Amplified our local presence

A dedicated classroom for homebuyer training and community meetings

Doubled our offerings; increased one-on-one financial and homeownership counseling

A childcare room to ensure families with small children can attend educational sessions

Expanded engagement with families who have younger children

Flexible meeting and gathering spaces for community use

Other nonprofits utilize our community space and kitchen at no cost

The Time is Now:

Affordable Homeownership
is Disappearing

As housing costs outpace wages and political gridlock stalls meaningful affordability reforms, homeownership in Lowell is slipping out of reach for the families who built its neighborhoods. The mission of Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership is to journey alongside residents as they seek their forever home.

One such resident was Elinor, who turned to Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership for guidance, and today, she feels proud, secure, and grateful for a home of her own.

MVHP is the Bridge: Placing Forever Homes in Reach

Every year, MVHP reaches 900 first-time homebuyers locally who have limited financial and social capital. MVHP provides 20+ homebuyer training series, individualized HUD-certified counseling, personal finance education, landlord training, and hands-on support accessing funding sources like down payment assistance and interest-rate buydowns.

Blazing Trails Toward Homeownership

Since its 1986 founding, MVHP has led the way in innovative approaches to homebuyer education, training, and advocacy.

In the 1990s, MVHP created one of the state’s first comprehensive homebuyer training programs—still widely used today.

Lowell is the first U.S. Frontrunner City, a municipality with breakthrough urban development solutions. MVHP was recognized in Geneva, Switzerland in 2025 for our contributions.

We are among seven MA partner organizations selected for this first U.S. matched savings program for first-generation, first-time homebuyers.

Modeled on MVHP’s original Lowell program, this statewide initiative enables residents to receive up to $25,000 of down payment assistance.

We influenced a statewide increase to the MassHousing Commonwealth Builder program’s asset cap, so that low-income households saving up to $150,000 for a downpayment aren’t penalized.
