Cathy Mercado

Executive Director
Cathy, an MVHP homebuyer and lifelong resident of Lowell, assumed the position of Executive Director in 2022, after having joined the staff in 2015. Cathy has extensive involvement in the community through numerous boards, including The Center for Hope and Healing, Abundant Housing MA, Acre Family Child Care, Common Ground Housing, and Fortaleza, among others. Cathy’s certified as a HUD Homebuyer Counselor, and has certificates for the Core Program at Tufts University’s Institute for Nonprofit
Practice, LEADS Executive Education Fellowship, and the Nonprofit Management from Middlesex Community College.

Jennifer Phengdara

Director of Programs
Jennifer has a professional financial history in residential mortgage lending from local community banks and national mortgage companies, helping an extensive variety of homebuyers into their first homes. With a background in Affordable Housing, she is well-versed in program options for many types of buyers and has a passion for first-generation homeownership. When she is not working, she enjoys all things travel and is a self-proclaimed foodie.

Molly Goodman

Director of Operations

Molly brings more than a decade of experience in housing advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and homeownership education. She previously served as Executive Director of The Midas Collaborative and led homebuyer education and counseling programs at Allston Brighton CDC. Throughout her career, Molly has worked to expand housing opportunities across Massachusetts through both program leadership and policy advocacy. She is a co-founder of the statewide advocacy organization Abundant Housing Massachusetts, where she helped build a broad coalition advancing pro-housing policies and zoning reforms to increase housing supply and make communities more affordable and accessible.

Elinor Rodriguez

Homebuyer Counselor
Elinor has a broad background in IT systems management and auditing in various areas. She loves numbers and new challenges. She wants to contribute her knowledge and experience to help and support others in the exciting process of buying a home, advising them to achieve the best possible outcome.

Kayla Glenn

Homebuyer Counselor

Kayla has a background in banking, multi-family housing, and property management and is a lifelong Lowell resident. She is excited to begin a new opportunity where she can help people navigate the home buying experience and make meaningful connections within the community. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, and baking.

Marketing Representative

Originally from New Hampshire, Cole is a student at Roger Williams University and one of our part-time marketing representatives. He’s passionate about gaining real-world experience in marketing and exploring how storytelling and strategy can make a meaningful impact in the housing world.

Kalvin Muangvong

Marketing Intern

Kalvin is a Lowell resident, a student at Greater Lowell Technical High School, and the Marketing Intern here at MVHP. He is eager to apply his growing technical and creative skills to support our mission. He is excited to use his marketing skills to amplify our community programs, ensuring that MVHP’s tools and resources reach all individuals and families.
